'Nuri' at Thai Hideaway |
Finally after opening our new office for a month now, we organized a “Nuri” for late Thursday afternoon on the 28th February. A “Nuri” is a traditional Muslim celebration after finishing a new house or work area.
The old men from the village came to our office and read parts from the Koran, while others where 'singing' old songs from the Muslim religion. The meaning behind this tradition is to ensure luck and health for the owners, the business and the people around.
After finishing the official part, they all joined an early dinner with 'Kaow Tom Goong' (Rice soup with shrimps) and cold drinks.
